School starts at 8:15. Please be on time!! As you see we have a very busy day and every minute counts. Students are dismissed at 2:35 except on Thursday when dismissal is 1:00.
8:15-8:30 Opening (Helpers, Pledge, Attendance, Directions for completing independent work)
8:30-9:45 Literature (Successmaker, Independent Activities, Guided Reading Groups)
9:45-10:00 Recess (snack if necessary)
10:00-10:15 DEAR (Drop Everything and Read)
10:15-10:35 Shared Reading (stories from students’ anthology books)
10:35-10:55 Journal Writing (response to literature)
10:55-11:15 Literacy Centers (Writing, Computers, Listening Post, Phonics, etc.)
11:15-11:55 Lunch (students play first then eat at 11:30)
11:55-1:10 Math
1:10-1:30 PE
1:30-2:10 Writing (Guided writng activities, grammar, independent practice)
2:10-2:30 ELD (English Language Development)
