Check this homework page every week for our weekly focus and games or activities that will help your child practice these skills. This week we will be working on adding er or est to words like tall-taller-tallest, long-longer-longest, etc. Be sure to practice Wed. night for the spelling test on Thursday. Look for your child’s spelling test in the homework on Friday to see how they did. Be sure to read the Scholastic Readers in your child’s homework. Review rhyming words and Rap with Gus and Inky in this fun rhyming game.
Reading Practice rhyming words with the Little Animals. Try making rhyming words in this Free Games website. Be sure to visit STARFALL . Another website is ROY the Zebra to practice. Practice to your sight words in this Popcorn Game.
Math Now we are working on money, identifying, counting and adding pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters. Practice with real coins at home and in this Matching Game and this Coins for Candy practice. We will continue adding and subtracting bigger numbers to 20 and learning different strategies to help get the answer without fingers or touch points. Go to the many games in Fun4theBrain in both additon and subtraction to practice these harder facts (not + 1 or 2 anymore). Help your child understand that subtraction is taking away while addition is putting together. Practice by knocking down the pins in this Bowling Game of subtraction. In additon help your child count on by starting at the biggest number and adding Touchpoints to the smallest number and counting on. Ex 5+3 would be 5,6,7,8. Practice counting on starting with 1 more, then 2 more in this game in Fun4theBrain, Peabody Penguin. or other games in Fun4theBrain.
